It’s your money they are giving away to international banks, it’s your savings they are squandering. The time has come for the Federal Reserve to open up its Kimono and give the citizens of the United States an explanation for its actions during the Crisis.
The era of stonewalling the citizens must end. The release of data yesterday was only a portion of the data. Its time to show all the data, and open the books for an Audit. Or Congress needs to reevaluate who is responsible for the currency of the country.
“We’re talking about huge sums of money going to bail out large foreign banks,” said Senator Bernard Sanders, the Vermont independent who wrote the provision in the Dodd-Frank Act that required the Fed disclosures. “Has the Federal Reserve become the central bank of the world? I think that is a question that needs to be examined.”
