The speed of change in today’s WebMedia 2.0 is amazing. It was only a few months ago that I was considering the idea of starting a blog, today I have a new web based live TV show.

I launched http://www.JackHBarnes.com via self hosting at WordPress in late fall of 2010.  At the time, I quickly realized that the features I wanted to use were not available in an easy to use package at WordPress.  I was already reevaluating my hosting options with in day’s, as their solution for video was less than what I wanted to do.

Fast forward a few weeks, and serendipitously Howard Lindzon had more time on his hands than he needed, I think it was Christmas afternoon or the day after Christmas, when he randomly came across an article of mine and reached out to me about joining his blogging network. This set into motion a series of events leading up to what has become a regular series of changes lately.

I had taken a sabbatical from the WebMedia 2.0 look and feel, so spent a few days checking out the StockTwit Nation.  For me, one of the prime reasons to make the move was a chance to work with an interactive media mix.

Howard and Phil Pearlman have built a diverse mix of solutions for a creative self motivated market commenter to share their content.  Chart.ly is a great way to share trading ideas for those who work in the visual world.  However, it was their web based TV show that really caught my eye.

In my typical approach, instead of setting up cam on a computer 24 inches from my nose, and hanging out on camera, I had to build a studio.  The last few weeks have been spent getting the bugs out of the production process. I have never been on television, had no clue what I was doing when I jumped at the the chance of having my own web TV show.

The guys @stocktwits.tv network have kept their word, and have given me a weekly TV show on Sunday Nights @ 9 pm Eastern / 6 pm Pacific.  Robert Sinn has joined me for each of the shows as a video guest.  This last week, we added a new live guest to the show allowing a spirited three way video conversation between myself, Robert and Matt Busigin.

It is amazing what modern technology allows today in the way of live recorded video.  While most shows today are recorded, the MacroContrarians’s show on Stocktwits.TV is shot “live” in real time.  This allows us take questions from you, our audience, during a show and answer them in real time.

If you are bored next Sunday night, around 9 pm Eastern /6pm Pacific, please join us by sending in a message via twitter or StockTwits, which ever you prefer.  All you have to do, is send us a message and use the $MACRO tag. Until next Sunday, here is a copy of last nights show.  Its worth a watch, if you like global economics.

The show last night didn’t start streaming until we were about 10 minutes into the show.  Its amazing how many things have to go right, for a show to be live and recorded at the same time.  The show below, starts about 11 minutes into the show last night with my guests joining the show.  Live Television is harder than it looks, go figure.
